Serenaded by Over 50 Men on Friday Night

Friday evening some friends and I decided to have a picnic at Saluda Shoals Park at a place by the river called Eagles Arrie.  After all, the weather was perfect and fall was in the air. There was a weekend of activities planned called Unearth.

No Assembly Required, Batteries Included

Two and one half hours down the road I rented a room at a local Myrtle Beach hotel and prepared to meet a friend who was in town on business. It had been several years since I saw her.  She was a colleague in the last job I worked in before retirement.

I love talking with her.  She is a wise woman, has two lovely children and a husband she adores, and is very good at her work.  We had a chance to catch up on what we and our children were doing over dinner at a restaurant on the beach. Before I knew it was three hours later.

It’s an interesting question to ponder.

What Kind of Packin’ Have you Been Doin’ Lately?

Right about now you are thinking one of two things.  I am either packing boxes to move or packin’ my pistol.  Guess it depends on which side of the fence you’re on.

Window to the World

I’m looking up at the stars before dawn.  Just woke up and realized that I could stare – almost straight up – at the sky and see the constellations clearly.
