I know you are humming that song right now if you remember it. Yesterday morning, I was humming it, too. Â
I walk on the Lake Murray Dam at seven each morning with a friend. Yesterday morning the moon was big and full…shining strongly on the lovely calm waters. We both noticed that it was not there in that same position the morning before and figured it might have something to do with the Autumn Equinox. One thing I love about this time of year is decorating. Come to think of it, I like to decorate all year round, right down to the flower pots scattered around my yard and patio. Â
I learned long ago that I could not put live flowers out if I wanted squirrels. The first three years I lived here those cute – but occasionally pesky – little creatures would eat all the flowers off the plants…no matter what time of year or what kind of flowers I put out. Â
After awhile that began to gnaw on my nerves…no pun intended.Â

I love this time of year. The air is getting cooler. The mornings are brisk. The fair is coming.Â
Â
It starts today at three. I am lucky enough to live in town and not too terribly far away from the fairgrounds…not quite close enough to hear the sounds or smell the cotton candy and elephant ears, but just close enough to be able to drive there in less than 30 minutes.  Going several times will definitely be an option for me. Â
I like to go with different friends that span generations. When you do that, you get to experience it from a variety of views. Going with young friends, we get to see how many rides we can squeeze in and how many “prizes†we can win. Woo woo!

I love eggs and hashbrowns. The place I enjoy these the most is Waffle House. They make scattered, smothered, covered hashbrowns and cook the eggs just right for my taste.Â
I figure we can learn a great deal from Waffle House when it comes to relationships. Â Ponder these…
They are always friendly and fun
They want to make it right
They are there for you 24 hours a day
They will scatter, smother, or cover …Â you just have to know what you want
They will fry, scramble, over easy … you name it

These days, a good credit score is essential. Credit scores:
affect interest rates you can get on car loans, credit cards and home loans. Â
establish how you pay your bills on time
show how much you owe others
identify the way you use your credit
explain the kind of mix you have in credit
keep track of the number of times you ask for credit
Â
Even Uncle Sam arranged for us to get free credit reports from the three major credit report companies yearly so we can find out how we are doing on our credit. I think they believed it would make us take a look at ourselves to see if we are doing what is right and, if not, do something about it. I think it is hard for some of us to do that…as this recent financial collapse suggests.
