Reflections From a Country Girl

I’ve been in intensive care until late this afternoon.  I am now in room P 603 on one of the leukemia floors at MD Anderson….feeling much better due to some special people with amazing skills. 

Do you find yourself lonely from time to time?

There are a multitude of things a parent can do to assure their child gets the best education possible. One of those ingredients is so often left out of the equation.

I have a young friend, Betsy, who has always been a creative soul. She pours herself into whatever she does. Her family encourages her. She reaches for her dreams. She is committed to doing her best to make a difference in the world.

I’ve said many times in my 29 years as an educator that we do a pretty good job at teaching our children the basics and an overall lousy job of helping them decide what to do with it in our education system.
