All Shook Up
It’s a tragedy in Peru.
But for the grace of God, we could be there, too. You see, the Columbia area is on a major fault. Miles below the earth there could be the potential for the same thing happening here.

I had some friends over for dinner last night. As usual, I slipped on a favorite cd for some background music. One of the songs on the Celtic Women cd, Send me a Song, is one I enjoy often.
Jim Brickman wrote one of my favorite songs – The Gift. I first heard it at one the many concerts if his I have gone to. The lyrics are just about that…gifts that come to us free…many of which become our favorites.
I received one of those…well, actually two…in the past few days.
I was visiting with one of my young friends recently over lunch. He told me he was planning a work related trip in a few weeks and was trying to decide who to ask if he could stay with them those few days.
As our conversation progressed, he had decided on several places but really wanted to “catch up†with one of his friends in particular. He wasn’t sure, though, if he wanted to stay at that friend’s place. Though he didn’t make it very clear in our conversation why, I later understood the hesitation.
I was headed to the car after dark and spotted one of the cats outside. Miss Kitty hadn’t been around for awhile. She belongs to someone else and I suspected she was in or they had gone on vacation.
I knew she was “on the hunt†as she was crouched like she was getting ready to pounce on something.
