Throw all Those Sweet Potato Casserole Recipes Away

From  Recipes With a Story Series:

So I THOUGHT I had the best sweet potato casserole recipe ever.  I’ve made it and shared it with many.  They always complimented me on it.  They often asked for a copy of the recipe.

Mine was the best, in my mind anyway, until my next door neighbor shared one with me fresh out of her over the other morning.  I took one bite and could not decide whether to have it as a side dish for my meal that night or as the dessert.  It is THE best by far of any of the ones I have ever had or made.

I quickly asked her if she was willing to share the recipe and she graciously sent it back to me.  She had taken the orginal recipe and altered it to make it a bit healthier. That was even better.

As soon as I got her e-mail back I promptly took all my other sweet potato casserole recipes and threw them out…wanting to make very sure I didn’t accidentally make one of them in the future.

I believe them.

Recipes With a Story – Chris’ Taco Soup

I’ve had a recipe book for years where I collected friends and family recipes of tasty treats to make for later. Some thought my book Sardines, Cheese and Soda Crackers: Reflections From a Country Girl was just that.  I begged to disagree but,

Moving On

With all the negative energy we’ve experienced over these past months during the election process, I, as many of you, have been searching for some positives.  It’s hard to do that when so much negativity surrounds us in the media – but I suspect we made the most of it and can now, finally, breathe a sigh of relief that elections are over.

So how do you deal with life when negatives are everywhere?
