Russell’s Brown Rice Casserole
It’s rare to have a friend like Russell. Â
Why are YOU Here?
Many of us – at least those around here – live our lives in relative peace. We have enough food, a nice enough home, a car or some other reliable means of transportation, we don’t worry too much about our safety and walk about life daily in relative security, and we are … well … just blessed. Â
Often, the only thing we worry about day in and day out is when something didn’t go our way or we had a disagreement with our loved ones. Â
Yep … truly blessed … I’d say – considering the world situations we see and hear about these days. Â
So think, for just a moment, why are we really here? Â
A Mediterranean Holiday Falafel Meal
I love Mediterranean food. Â One of my favorite foods is Falafel. Â I like it so much I learned how to cook it at home. Â Many years ago I made it fairly frequently but, as time passed, I left it in the recipe book and time ran away with me … so no falafel. Â
A friend and I went to a Lebanese restaurant – Ellie’s – earlier this week and  I was reminded what great falafel was like. Â
The Blessings of Parenthood
Every once in a while I visit her website. She is a young woman by my standards. She and her husband found out they could not have children so they began the process of adoption. She started her blog – www.flossiemae.blogspot.com – “Waiting Child†– to share her family’s journey into adoption and the struggles and pleasures of the process. Â
At the end of their adoption trail – or should I say at the beginning – they found a precious little boy. Â
