Halloween Texas Style
It’s been a week since I’ve been back in the hospital. I’ve written little since I have had some rough days.
I feel much better today.
Pierce came by this morning and as he came in I laughed. He had an indian chief headdress on. He brought me a bandana, a cowboy hat, and a round of bullets (fake of course) to wear all day. We donned our gear and headed out of the room.
I have to wear a gown, mask and gloves when I go out of the room, so I put those on. The yellow “cover” I wear looks like a cowboy duster – sort of. We headed out for a walk around the floor.
Having had a significant amount of fun as we walked around, we came back to the room. My SC cowboy friends will get a kick out of the pictures. This was the best I could muster since I had no real “cowboy” gear here…however, we’ll just call this a “Texas style” Halloween costume.
There is such a diverse group of staff here. Many of them do not celebrate Halloween since it is a cultural difference to them.
Most of my SC friends, however, do celebrate this holiday. Many have trick or treaters and go all out for the Halloween visitors.
My wish for you today is that you enjoy the holiday trick or treaters as they come to see you, go to a great Halloween party to celebrate the day or celebrate quietly with the lights off at home. Just make sure you stay safe and watch out for the trick or treaters if you’re driving.
