Joellen Update (By Vicki)
We are now at day 21 of the chemotherapy so we are expecting another bone marrow biopsy tomorrow to determine how it is working.  Joellen is in positive spirits and is doing everything the doctors are telling her to do.  They are working on the heart medications, and she is still on oxygen for her lungs. She feels like eating a bit and is trying out everything on the menu to find something that has a good taste! It’s not that the food is not good, but the chemotherapy affects her tastes! :)  Popsicles and chicken broth are her favorites right now!
Even though she has great difficulty talking with the oxygen, she loves to hear your voices and she listens to her voicemails every day. Personally I love hearing her perky voice when I get her message on the phone.
The computer reception sometimes is not the best in the hospital, but she also reads her emails when she can. Pierce reads and then tapes the many cards on her wall so she can see them. Her wall is covered please continue to share those when you can.  I counted over 80 when I was there last week! Every one of these are an encouragement to her! I’m sure at times she feels alone, but what a blessing to see and hear all of these reminders that so many love her, miss her, and are praying for her!
My wish for you today is that when you feel alone that those who love you will show you in tangible ways how much you mean to them!
