It’s Been a Good Week for Gun Owners

I was driving back home when the word came across my cell. The Supreme Court had made the decison by a 5 to 4 vote in favor of the right to bear arms.

I let out a “whoop” in the car that scared my sweetie – that is until he saw what came across the wire.

It’s been a long time coming and I can tell from listening to the pros and cons since the decision was made that the battle is not over.

I don’t know about you but i’m not as knowledgeable as I should be about our Constitution. I do know that it was but by ONE vote that we almost lost the right to have firearms to protect us and our families.

That’s scary to me.

It was the bravery and determination of one man that started all this. He was tired of not being able to defend himself and his family just because he lived in the Washington, DC area.

And who said one person can’t make a difference?

This is not the end of the battle to preserve our rights. It’s just the beginning.

I did some research since then to find out more about what our founding fathers meant when they wrote our Constitution many years ago. There is a site that has all the critical documents together in one place. I’m passing that site on to you for those of us who what to make sure we have a ready resource when we need it.

I hope you will take the time to read those documents again and make sure you are well versed in what you need to know to talk with your friends and legislators about the importance of preserving our rights as United States Citizens.

Yes, it’s been a good week but let’s not let down our defenses regarding our rights. There is much work to be done.

My wish for you today is that you renew your awareness of the constitution and familiarize yourself with the rights the founding fathers based our country on as you advocate for your rights to protect you and your family. Make sure you are selecting leaders who support your rights when election time comes around.
