The Race Goes On

I never have been much of a person to follow politics in-depth.

Oh, I’ve always given it it’s due respect.  I very seldom miss voting and I am fairly knowledgeable on issues when it comes to being ready to vote responsibly.  I’ve also always encouraged my son to be responsible about voting as well.

I’ll never forget the time we took our son to vote when he was five.  My husband carried him in the booth with him to let Pierce experience the process.  He held him in his arms as he voted and the little voice said quite loudly and inquisitively…”You voted for him…why?”

Everyone laughed.

So, I’m up early this morning.  I stayed up late last night…all because of Super Tuesday.

I’ve been much more curious this election.  After all, the Democrats are making history with Obama and Clinton.  Whoever gets the nomination is going to continue making history and I’m very curious to see who the Democrats of this country say they are ready for.

I’m also curious to see who this nation says they are ready for.

Then there are the Republicans.  It looks like McCain will be the victor…but then there’s this Huckabee guy who showed well in a number of states no one thought he would grab in the primary. That, along with Romney, is sure to prove interesting over the next few months.

If nothing else, this year’s election is reminding us of how our governing process works.  We’re living a history lesson here and it’s sure to make us think until Election Day when we get the chance to vote one last time for our presidential choice.

Yes, the race goes on and we’re right in the middle of it.

My wish for you today is that you pay close attention to our election process now and make sure you position yourself to vote in November.  I suspect this will be the year where it truly will be important for you to take the time to cast your ballot.
