Mama, Mia! What An Italian Delight

A friend and I went to lunch today at the spur of the moment. Sometimes those are the best times…when you decide to do something spontaneously.

She suggested a little Italian restaurant – Delucca’s – she and her daughter had been to once before over in West Columbia.  When we walked in, I understood why she said small.  There were no more than ten places to dine in a space that has to be less than 20 feet square.  The decorations included old and new family pictures while unobtrusive music played in the background.

They have both a lunch and dinner menu. The choices are as varied as your own personal tastes could want and they include a pizzas.  The menu even feathers white pizzas…my personal favorite.

It was hard to decide on a dish…there were so many tempting offerings.  I ordered grilled chicken with risotto and green beans. Before our meal we were the recipients of several slices of fresh homemade bread and a delightful cinnamon and brown sugar whipped butter.

I must say the meal was one of the best dishes I have ever had.  The chicken was delightful and the risotto and crisp green beans tickled my tastebuds.

To top it off I had a creme brule that was THE BEST I had ever had in my life.  What a totally delightful dining experiences.  I am already planning my next visit.

My wish for you today is that you take a chance and visit the small family owned restaurants and savor the experience. Most often than not you will likely find a culinary delight!
