Creative Recycling

In these days and times when excesses are at an all time high, it is critical to recycle.

I must admit I have been a recycler of things for years.  I often share my items I want to recycle by placing them at the side of the road in front of my house with a sign that says “free to a good home.” I have the most interesting conversations with people who – often out of curiosity – come to the door and ask about the items before taking them.

My most recent ventures in recycling is to take men’s ties and used wine bottles to create new items….namely pocketbooks and bottle lamps.

I have a link here to both of these above in case you’d like to see what I’m doing to encourage and support recycling while having fun and being creative. Just visit “Knot Hardly Done (tie handbags)” and “All Bottled Up” (bottle lamps).

Part of the proceeds for each sale is donated to “Sharing God’s Love” – an organization dedicated to helping families in crisis.

Visit the site and enjoy what you see.

My wish for you today is that you make your surrounding and the world a little more green friendly.  Have some fun while you are doing it. Oh, by the way…feel free to share some of your recycling ideas here.  Together, we can make a difference a little at a time.
