What Do Dinner, Viagra and the Grocery Store Have in Common?

I decided to call a friend about 5:30 on Friday night to see if he wanted to grab a quick bite to eat.  I knew he would either be in for the evening or having a hot date…so I took my chances it would be the first one.

It was my lucky night.

He was paying bills and settling in for a quite evening.  We decided to go to a favorite restaurant and have a nice quite meal together…just what both of us deserved after a hectic week.

The food was fantastic and our conversations quickly turned into a two hour meal.  Somehow we managed to begin talking about Viagra.  We exchanged several stories, all of them true, about the drug, and before we knew it we were asking ourselves how in the world did we get on that subject as we laughed – sometimes so loud others turned their heads to see if they could figure out what all the laughing was about.

As we turned the corner going toward home we were about to pass the Kroger grocery store.  He casually said he needed to go there and I said I needed to as well.  Without as much as a question, he whipped into the parking lot and we got out…each going our separate way to gather our food items and meet at the checkout.

Now I’ve heard of singles going to the grocery store to see if they can find romance there on a Friday night.  There’s even a song, “Down at the Piggly Wiggly,” where Casey Jones sings about picking up men at the grocery store.

I’ve just never heard of taking the single man in the store with you shopping on a Friday night.

I can hear the guys at the office on Monday now.

“What did you do this weekend, buddy?”

“Oh, I went to dinner with a beautiful woman, we talked about Viagra, and then went shopping for groceries.”  That should cause quite a conversation around the water cooler!

My wish for you today is that you embrace life to it’s fullest no matter what you do.  Good conversation, a pleasant meal, and – yes – even shopping for groceries can be an exhilarating experience if you just use a little imagination.
