Nobody Does it Better

Do you have a friend or acquaintance who can do almost anything he or she attempts?

My friend, George, is like that.  He not only knows how to organize indoor and outdoor events, loves to volunteer to do things like Boy Scouts and to deep fry multitudes of turkeys at one time, is a MASTER chef, and is so often willing to lend a helping hand.

This past week, George has deep fried two turkeys for me for Thanksgiving (he did this on Thanksgiving morning!), torn down a treehouse and hauling off a truck full of junk I didn’t know I had until I started cleaning out the shed, and held THE best Carolina Clemson Game Party I’ve been to in a while.

Now that’s a busy man.

More importantly, that’s a man who loves to live and it shows.  There’s not much I suspect he can’t do.

One day last year George told me I was one of his heros.  He has accumulated but only a few of those in his days and explained who the others were.  I was humbled as I listened and was amazed he had included me in that list.

As I reflect on what a hero is to me, I put George right up there on my list as one of those.  Not only is he fun to be around, but he has the unique ability to share his time and talents with others selflessly.

My wish for you today is that you will discover who your heros are as you walk through life and appreciate them.  Better yet, you be a hero for someone today. Nobody can do it better.
