When Your Calendar Disappears

It’s been interesting around my place the last few days. My PDA crashed and I lost not only all my calendar but my address book was compromised as well. That, on top of needing a new computer quickly, has made me think about whether I wanted a Microsoft based computer or a MAC.

Friends of mine have said over these last few years, get a MAC and you will never want anything else again.

Now I’m 56 and getting somewhat set in my ways. Change happens all the time, but when you have retirement, starting your own business AND having to get a new computer/PDA it’s a bit much. I’m glad I have a tendency to make hard copies or I’d be up the creek without a paddle.

So, I make a trip to the Apple store in Charlotte on Sunday and discover the world of MACS – coming home with a MacBook and an Iphone.

Well, well, well. These things have some remarkable features. I am a gadget kind of person so everything different is like a new toy to me.

This is my first reflection being processed on this computer and I am finding it easy to use and not so bad a learning curve after all. Never mind that it’s taking awhile to get my address book in order…not to mention my calendar reconstruction.

My wish for you today is that you never lose your calendar. It’s an humbling experience. Remember to always make hard copy backups if you are a computer carrying card member like me.
