Just Singing (or crawling around) in the Rain

As I opened the back door last night there was a long “thing” on my screen door.

It looked like a snake in the shadows so I closed the door carefully and headed for the flashlight.

It was actually two slugs “connected” to each other…or at least it appeared they were. I got the measuring stick out and they were – combined – 13 inches long!

I have to put out some beer for them. I tried sprinkling salt on one once and that was a BIG mistake. It took me several attempts to get it all off the sidewalk when I did that.

I suspect they were taking a little stroll because of all the rain we’ve been getting this week.

I love it when it rains.

The only thing I like better than rain is when it thunderstorms.

There’s something intriguing about storms. The darker and louder for me, the better.

My equivalent to dancing in the rain as they did in the song “Singing in the Rain” is to get in the car and take off down the road. Yes, I like storms so much that I have been known to drive out the lake when I know one is approaching and watch.

As you know if you live around here, we’re not getting nearly enough rain and storms these days. When we do, opening the window and listening to the gentle rains is like going off on vacation for three weeks…it’s just heaven.

My wish for you today is that you make the best of the weather when it hits. Maybe you can make some of your own adventures up with situations that surround rain and storms. Stay safe, of course, but enjoy it just the same.
