Shopping, the Musical! Or Shopping with a Friend
Have you heard about “Shopping! The Musical?†It’s a musical comedy of original songs and sketches about almost everybody’s favorite activity. It focuses on all kinds of stores, customers and businesses as it concentrates on the frustrations, exasperations, and occasional joys of SHOPPING!
I have to admit I am one of those people that loves to shop.
Late yesterday a friend called to catch up. It’s been almost six weeks since I talked to him. His children and mine were about the same age and we watched each other raise them as single parents. We both did a pretty good job over these past 18 years and we keep in touch to see how things are progressing with them as young adults.
His first child married and had a girl that will be three years old on Saturday. He had just gotten off work and was on the way to the mall to shop for clothes for her. I invited myself to join him if he could stand some company.
You have to understand that I think it would be the greatest thing to shop for a little girl. Having had boys, I did not have that experience of buying girly clothes.
Little boy’s clothes are cute enough, but little girls dresses and accessories are just adorable. We had so much fun picking them out. Some came with little pocketbooks and hats. One even came with a smaller matching dress for a doll.
What great fun we had. After getting them wrapped, we decided to grab a quick bite to eat and catch up on how things were going with both of us. I know he will have fun sharing those with his granddaughter.
My wish for you today is that you take time out with good friends for some simple pleasures in life like shopping trips. You’ll most likely have a great time.
