Seeing Things More Clearly

I never thought I’d have to wear glasses. As I got older, however, things became less clear with my vision and the need for glasses was evident.

First it was the small print in the phone book that I couldn’t see as clearly. Then I tried to wear reading glasses to look at my sheet music with the choir I sang with at the time and began not seeing it well enough to read the words.

My vanity didn’t allow for my wearing glasses all the time. I didn’t like the way they looked on me.

I tried contacts and, after three months of bifocal contact lenses and then trying out the monovision option, I settled for one contact in one eye. I’ve been doing that ever since…occasionally wearing glasses to do tedious work with small beads…etc.

Let’s just say it took me awhile to see things clearly again.

Life is that way, you know.

Sometimes we hear one thing and automatically think that is what is meant. It may cause for some misunderstanding and it may take awhile to see or hear things were not as we thought.

Recently, I shared some info that I thought was non true, just to find out it was not several months later. At the time, I thought it was right thought. None of this was done maliciously…it was an honest error in judgment.

So what do you do when you cause someone to see things the wrong way…in other words, you cloud their judgment based on what you say and they see things differently than they would have if the information was right?

Oh, I could let it go. After these few months no one would really have it on their mind. Life has gone on.

Right?

However, my vision of who this person is has changed a bit and it just might change with the person I shared the info with earlier, too.

So today I take care of this with both the person I said it to and the person I said it about.

Things will be clearer and truer then…just like my vision when I adjusted it.

My wish for you today is that you make every effort to see things clearly throughout your life. If you make a mistake because your vision was not clear at the time, correct it and move on. If you don’t take care of the blurred vision now, it will only get worse later.
