Aye Maties, There be Pirates Aboard!

There were plenty of pirates last evening…swinging high in the sky from one ship to the other…rum drinkin’ from the bottle pirates…revenge on their mind pirates…no fear in their eyes pirates.

Yes, it was magnificent…three hours of action packed entertainment.

Last night was the first time any of us in SC could see. Like I said earlier this week, there’s pirate blood in both sides of the family so Iclipper-ship-weekend-in-charleston-may-20th-2007-003.jpg suspect that’s the reason I headed to the theatre to be one of the first to watch the third installment of Pirates of the Caribbean.

It was great fun with lots of high seas adventure, just enough romantic intrigue, and – finally – some closure to the last Pirates movie where the story left a good deal of unfinished business.

I was satisfied and…though a bit tired this morning…glad I went to the show before all the weekend lines form.

I suspect many of you don’t stay around to watch all the credits from movies. I learned early on from my movie making son that a movie is not truly over until all the credits run.

As movie makers have gotten wiser over the years about the importance of credits, many of them now have little tidbits at the end that “finish” off the story.

This movie was no different.

For the handful of us who stayed around out of the “full to capacity” audience, we saw more footage that just finished the movie off.

Ah, reminds me of a tune…”Yo ho, yo ho a pirate’s life for me.”

My wish for you today is that all you maties enjoy a good swashbuckling movie as you hum that little tune under your breath. Don’t forget to stay for all the credits. You’re likely to see more scenes of the movie if you take the time to do that.
