There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s this country song about a man who bought a new truck. He invited his girl to go break it in by \u00e2\u20ac\u0153getting a little mud on the tires.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been driving up and down a dirt road in the country these past few days and thought of that song. Because it rained pretty hard last weekend, the road is still a real mess and I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve definitely got some mud on my tires and my car \u00e2\u20ac\u201c in fact all over my white car. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

My problem is, I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have a truck to go down this dirt road. I love trucks, but when I found myself having to get another car several months ago, I couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t quite make myself get a truck. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

My car isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t just any ole white car. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a fancy Toyota Avalon. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

Now that car just doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t look right with mud on it, but I like my car and had not other choice. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

All that said, I have to say that the first few times I went down this particular road I was very careful. There are lots of Saturday hunters out there and that means lots of deer. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve never seen one down that road, but the hunters sitting up on their trucks waiting for the deer to cross early in the morning is a sign they are definitely around. I just wave as I go by and smile.<\/font><\/p>\n

During the week, however, it is strangely silent on that path. <\/font><\/p>\n

Today I went through around 6:45. There was plenty of daylight and no hunters. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

The windows were down and the air was cool and brisk. I found myself wanting to drive a little faster than usual and thoroughly enjoyed the extra speed\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6that is until I got to the little bridge and went flying through the air as I crossed over it. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

I cut a bit of a wheelie\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6ok\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6a LOT of a wheelie\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6but regained control of the car quickly and went on my way. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

Glad no one was there to see me do that. <\/font><\/p>\n

It would have been embarrassing if I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d wound up in the ditch so I slowed down just a little\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6but not for long. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

Country roads bring the wild woman out in me. I just can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t help it. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d probably be pretty dangerous if I had a truck, come to think of it. <\/font><\/p>\n

My wish for you today<\/strong> is that you find a country road you like and take a little ride with the windows down. While I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t really suggest speeding, I do suggest that you listen to the early morning sights and sounds. They are way too wonderful to drive by unnoticed!<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n
