When I think of 30 days and 30 nights I think of traveling in the vast countryside of a foreign country and spending the nights in a flowing tent with lots of pillows for lounging … eating grapes hanging over my head so I can just reach up and grab them in my mouth.\u00c2\u00a0 There might even be someone fanning me [or having a fan(s)] nearby blowing those flowing tent covers gently to keep some breezes going. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Early last evening I moved to what they call at MD Anderson a “Protective Environment.” \u00c2\u00a0I learned that means that you stay in the same room for your entire treatment time…in my case 30 days and nights.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a bit different than my first concept of 30 days and 30 nights.\u00c2\u00a0 There can be lots of pillows and the airflow is constant.\u00c2\u00a0 However…I may just have to close my eyes and imagine the rest during my stay here.\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

It also means that everyone who comes in must wear a gown, gloves, shoe covers, a mask and something over their head. \u00c2\u00a0This cuts down on germs and my chance of catching anything from the outside since my immune system is going to be down for 30 days. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

I have a nice room for a hospital. \u00c2\u00a0It has a large window to see what’s going on out in the real world. \u00c2\u00a0There is cut class on the top of the window. \u00c2\u00a0Many of you know I love stained\/etched glass so this is my kind of window. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

I started chemo at 1:30 this morning. \u00c2\u00a0 They say I may not have side effects. \u00c2\u00a0Some do. \u00c2\u00a0Some don’t. \u00c2\u00a0Time will tell. \u00c2\u00a0We shall see.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It appears to me that 30 days and 30 nights will go by fast and that I will have lots of experiences to share. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My wish for you today<\/strong> is that you have a vision of what 30 days and 30 nights mean for you and do your best to envision and\/or fulfill that thought.\u00c2\u00a0 It may be very interesting for you, too. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
