It;s my first day back to writing.\u00a0 I suppose you could say it has been a time of rest and renewal and – definitely – a unique adventure for me and my loved ones. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

It all started on February 28th this year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Since then, I have been in the hospital or for a lengthy stay in an emergency room for a total of 18 days.\u00a0 Oh, and that does not include the time my son had an emergency appendectomy in between all of my hospitalizations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

We have really been very blessed with good health before that.\u00a0 While I walked on the dam or in a local mall most mornings with a friend, that came to a complete halt in February.\u00a0 I have been told I can not be “released”\u009d to walk again until the end of May. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Bummer.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

One medical complication lead to another and I wound up with a really bad case of pneumonia – which kept me in isolation in the hospital.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

When they say “there is no place like home,”\u009d they really mean it.\u00a0 Good Friday I arrived home late in the day after six days in the hospital.\u00a0 I forgot how nice it was to sleep comfortably in my own bed…the first time I was able to do that since the first of March.\u00a0 Most of the time I was trying to sleep in a recliner due to the discomfort of my situation. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

There is something to be said for this time of year.\u00a0 Besides the pollen, the flowers and greenery is coming at us from all sides.\u00a0 I love sitting on my patio and enjoying the spring. I am not able to do that now – doctor’s orders – but I can still sit at the door and enjoy it. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

For those of us who are Easter people, we embrace the renewal of the season for other reasons.\u00a0 It’s a time when we can refocus energies into more purpose…whatever that purpose may be for each of us individually.\u00a0 It is also a time to rest and to be thankful.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Today is a new day with new opportunities for taking care of ourselves and reaching out with the purpose we are meant to have. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

My wish for you today<\/strong> is that you continue to realize the true purpose in your life and to embrace it with a passion and resolve each day. <\/span><\/p>\n
