Today I start teaching a writing class for eight weeks.\u00c2\u00a0 A friend has opened her business – Spirit Abundant: The Joy of Self Discovery <\/em>– to do what she is passionate about….helping others be the best they can be.\u00c2\u00a0 That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not an easy task in a world like we live in today.\u00c2\u00a0 She will be in her office and meeting space three days a week or so and asked if I would like to teach a class during any of the other days. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Since I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve discovered I am passionate about writing\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I offered to teach this writing class. \u00c2\u00a0 We put the word out right before Christmas. It turns out there were enough adventurers out there to take it so here I am getting ready for my first group tonight from 6:30 – 8:30 here in the Irmo area.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

After our first night of instruction and introductions we will be having a series of speakers each of the next six nights.\u00c2\u00a0 They come from all walks of life.\u00c2\u00a0 Our participants will listen to them talk for about an hour and then have a homework assignment of writing about them for the next class.\u00c2\u00a0 The writing can be in any format they choose…poetry, short story, feature article – newspaper style…their choice.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Speakers include a cowboy, a filmmaker, a lawyer, a teacher, an advocate for our local natural resources, and a musician.\u00c2\u00a0 Some of these may change, but right now these are the ones scheduled to be with us. Trying to list what these people are was a bit of a challenge.\u00c2\u00a0 It was hard because we are all so much more than one thing in life. We fill many roles for many reasons. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m excited about our class tonight.\u00c2\u00a0 The people taking the class come from such different backgrounds.\u00c2\u00a0 The class location overlooks a beautiful park in Irmo.\u00c2\u00a0 If the weather works with us over these next weeks we may take some of our classes out the park gazebo.\u00c2\u00a0 Time will tell.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My wish for you today<\/strong> is that you embrace all parts of yourself as you follow your life\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s adventures.\u00c2\u00a0 Discovering who you are can be fun if you dare to be open to what and who you and others around you are.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
