{"id":506,"date":"2008-02-13T00:46:15","date_gmt":"2008-02-13T04:46:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reflectionsfromacountrygirl.com\/?p=506"},"modified":"2008-02-13T00:48:28","modified_gmt":"2008-02-13T04:48:28","slug":"emjoying-the-uniqueness-of-friendships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reflectionsfromacountrygirl.com\/?p=506","title":{"rendered":"Emjoying the Uniqueness of Friendships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">A friend called for a spur of the moment lunch yesterday.<span>\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>I accepted and we agreed to meet at a favorite restaurant. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">Now this is not just any friend.<span>\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>This is one of my storytelling friends.<span>\u00c2\u00a0 <!--more--><\/span>We always seem to talk about writing, storytelling events and other activities that use creative writing and speaking skills. <span>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">After ordering our food, my friend told me about a weekend retreat he and 300 others enjoyed at the Myrtle Beach area.<span>\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>I enjoyed hearing about the event as I had been an active part of that church family in the not so distant past. <\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">As I sat there and listened to my friend talk about the event, he pulled out a children&#8217;s storybook the speaker shared.<span>\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>Before I knew it, he was reading poetry to me. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">What a delight!<span>\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>I can&#8217;t tell you how much I enjoyed that time together.<span>\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span><\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">After all, when was the last time someone read poetry to you as an adult? <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><strong>My wish for you today<\/strong> is that you take the time to enjoy your friendships and appreciate the uniqueness of each one&#8230;maybe even taking some time to read poetry to a friend. <\/font><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\" class=\"MsoNormal\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">~ Joellen<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A friend called for a spur of the moment lunch yesterday.\u00c2\u00a0 I accepted and we agreed to meet at a favorite restaurant.
