George called the other afternoon.\u00c2\u00a0 He asked if I could give him some time on Thursday night to help at a science fair.\u00c2\u00a0 I said yes and showed up last night about 5:30.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The school was packed.\u00c2\u00a0 Judging had taken place earlier that day and everyone was coming for dinner and to see the science exhibit.\u00c2\u00a0 Included in the evening events were four areas set aside in the gym for science related activities.\u00c2\u00a0 George had the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Body Bubble Machine\u00e2\u20ac\u009d set up at his site. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I had the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Racing Regatta\u00e2\u20ac\u009d at mine. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

There were two handmade sailboats…complete with two rain gutters closed on both ends so water would stay in them.\u00c2\u00a0 It was a site to behold and caused a great deal of interest from both students and parents.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

For two hours we had hundreds of students and parents pass through to experience the\u00c2\u00a0 regatta racing.\u00c2\u00a0 The object of the site was to have one person at each of the two sailboat sites to blow on the sail and, without physically touching the boat at all, get it to the other end the fastest. \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

We discovered as we went along that there was really a strategy to this. To be most effective you had to blow on the sail at just the right spot.\u00c2\u00a0 Blowing it too hard or too fast would turn the sailboat over.\u00c2\u00a0 Blowing it gently and consistently was the best way to get it to move down the rain gutter with ease.<\/span><\/p>\n

We all laughed.\u00c2\u00a0 I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve never seen so many red faces…parents and students alike!<\/span><\/p>\n

My wish for you today<\/strong> is that you take advantage of every opportunity to be part of a healthy and fun activity.\u00c2\u00a0 Life will present you with unique challenges so embracing them and making the most of them will be exhilarating.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
