{"id":387,"date":"2007-08-31T05:55:14","date_gmt":"2007-08-31T09:55:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reflectionsfromacountrygirl.com\/?p=387"},"modified":"2007-08-31T06:04:50","modified_gmt":"2007-08-31T10:04:50","slug":"death-sentence-comes-out-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reflectionsfromacountrygirl.com\/?p=387","title":{"rendered":"Death Sentence Comes out Today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">This afternoon <strong><em>Death Sentence<\/em><\/strong> comes out.<span>  <\/span>Now I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t usually rush to the movies to be the first to see it. However, because it was filmed here in the Columbia area last fall, my son worked the film, and our car was used in the sequence where the car races to the edge of the top of a parking garage and plummets four stories below (not our car but another, thank goodness), it is on my priority list to see today\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6or at least sometime this weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Fact is, I will probably see it several times\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<!--more-->though it is pretty violent and full of fight scenes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I was in a theatre the other day that thought they were getting it.<span>  <\/span>They had lots of plans and already had a number of groups scheduled.<span>  <\/span>They had a large 8&#215;8 framed \u00e2\u20ac\u0153standee\u00e2\u20ac\u009d on display to advertise.<span>  <\/span>Something went wrong and they were not going to get the movie after all.<span>  <\/span>I happened to be there right after they found out and asked if they were getting rid of the standee\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6that I would love to take it off their hands. Several days later they called and asked me to come get it.<span>  <\/span>It now resides in my son\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s apartment as a reminder of the fun AND the hard work they had making that film.<span>  <\/span>After all, it was quite an event to have these folks here in town\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6James Wan, John Goodman, Kevin Bacon, Kelly Preston, etc.<span>  <\/span>It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not everyday you run into these folks.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">So, to the movies I will go\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6hopefully with friends and family, and at least several times\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>My wish for you today<\/strong>, and for this holiday weekend, is that you have a great time with family and friends doing what is important to you.<span>\u00c2\u00a0  <\/span>Be safe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">~ Joellen<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">PS:<span>  <\/span>Here\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a picture of the standee\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6not sure I would want to have a man with a baseball bat behind me when I eat, but, hey\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the memories that count.
