{"id":382,"date":"2007-08-23T03:29:18","date_gmt":"2007-08-23T07:29:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reflectionsfromacountrygirl.com\/?p=382"},"modified":"2007-08-23T03:29:18","modified_gmt":"2007-08-23T07:29:18","slug":"food-glorious-food","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reflectionsfromacountrygirl.com\/?p=382","title":{"rendered":"Food, Glorious Food"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I had my friend\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 7 and 11 year old daughters during the day while she started back to school.<span>   <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I think that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s what you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re supposed to do when you retire&#8230;<span>  <\/span><!--more-->Have fun with other people\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s kids and just enjoy life.<span>  <\/span>Since I just completed my work for the school district I retired from, I have energies to spend time with my friends\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 children and other things that I just may not have had time for before.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">We spent time making jewelry, going to the movies, talking and other fun things.<\/p>\n<p>One of those fun things was spending 2 \u00c2\u00bd hours at the grocery store.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Now 2 \u00c2\u00bd hours at a grocery store could mean trouble for most of us.<span>  <\/span>For the girls, it was fun.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I gave each one $10 and they had to buy three days worth of groceries that equaled to balanced meals.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I think I had as much fun as they did deciding what would work and what wouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t.<span>  <\/span>When it was all said and done, they had about 5 days worth of groceries.<span>  <\/span>They ate some of the things at my house and took the rest home to cook a meal for their parents last night.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>My wish for you today<\/strong> is that you enjoy a little shopping experience like that and try to buy balanced meals with a little money.<span>  <\/span>You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d be surprised just how well you could do with less.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">~ Joellen<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had my friend\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 7 and 11 year old daughters during the day while she started back to school.
