{"id":380,"date":"2007-08-20T06:44:41","date_gmt":"2007-08-20T10:44:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reflectionsfromacountrygirl.com\/?p=380"},"modified":"2007-08-20T06:44:41","modified_gmt":"2007-08-20T10:44:41","slug":"the-skinny-chicken","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reflectionsfromacountrygirl.com\/?p=380","title":{"rendered":"The Skinny Chicken"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not sure I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve mentioned this before, but I often nickname events with some funny little name that causes me to remember the activity.<span>  <\/span>Not that I need a name to remember when I have a good time, but remembering the name can bring a smile to my face when I recall it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><!--more-->Last night was one of those events worth naming.<span>  <\/span>Several of us decided to gather for dinner at <strong><em>Macaroni Grill<\/em><\/strong> at the last minute.<span>  <\/span>We had been there for some time talking and hadn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t decided what we wanted to eat\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6at least I hadn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t. After the patient waiter arrived back the seventh time to take our order and I still had not looked at the menu, we decided to go ahead and I would know what I wanted by the time he got to me.<\/p>\n<p>They all spewed their selection off in no time and hear I was\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6having to make a decision. I spotted \u00e2\u20ac\u0153the skinny chicken\u00e2\u20ac\u009d on the menu and ordered it\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6with no pepper and tomatoes. We laughed at the name\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6I sure hoped it would be good.<span>  <\/span>I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even look at what it was\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6just the name was enough for me\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6at least I hoped so.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The manager came over and visited with us for awhile.<span>  <\/span>We must have caught his attention because we were laughing and enjoying ourselves\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6not obnoxiously so understand but with a zest for living that didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t appear at every table that night.<span>  <\/span>We had a great evening just talking and enjoying each other\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s company.<span>  <\/span>The food came, the skinny chicken was fantastic, and we left some three hours later after consuming a luscious dessert the manager brought over for us to enjoy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>My wish for you today<\/strong> is that you savor moments in life like \u00e2\u20ac\u0153the skinny chicken\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and recall them with a smile.<span>  <\/span>Life is just too short to waste it away not savoring each opportunity to enjoy life with good people.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not sure I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve mentioned this before, but I often nickname events with some funny little name that causes me to remember the activity.
