{"id":376,"date":"2007-08-14T00:03:51","date_gmt":"2007-08-14T04:03:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reflectionsfromacountrygirl.com\/?p=376"},"modified":"2007-08-14T00:05:55","modified_gmt":"2007-08-14T04:05:55","slug":"all-the-wrong-places","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reflectionsfromacountrygirl.com\/?p=376","title":{"rendered":"All the Wrong Places"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I was visiting with one of my young friends recently over lunch.<span>  <\/span>He told me he was planning a work related trip in a few weeks and was trying to decide who to ask if he could stay with them those few days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">As our conversation progressed, he had decided on several places but really wanted to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153catch up\u00e2\u20ac\u009d with one of his friends in particular.<span>  <\/span>He wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t sure, though, if he wanted to stay at that friend\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s place.<span>  <\/span>Though he didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t make it very clear in our conversation why, I later understood the hesitation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><!--more-->Seems that this friend made the front page of the local newspaper last week for trafficking drugs.<span>  <\/span>An acquaintance in that city who knew I know this young man sent me the new release and I forwarded it on to my young friend.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">We talked later that day and I said I was sure glad he decided to stay elsewhere. We agreed that, if he had been at that young man\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s place when he was picked up, he would likely have had to justify his innocence \u00e2\u20ac\u201c maybe even get a lawyer to help.<\/p>\n<p>I know this young man is \u00e2\u20ac\u0153clean\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and VERY responsible with his life personally and professionally.<span>  <\/span>That would not have been the right place to be for his personal or professional reputation.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Do you find yourself in all the wrong places these days?<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">If so, you may want to consider making better choices about who you hang out with.<span>  <\/span>You know, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s that guilt by association rut you want to avoid.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>My wish for you today<\/strong> is that you never find yourself in a situation where you are in the wrong place at the wrong time and that you live a question free life that will allow you to do and be the best you can be.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">~ Joellen<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was visiting with one of my young friends recently over lunch.
