It is a nonsense poem and the artwork he created to go with it is quite nice. The poem suggests that owls and cats love being around each other.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I suspect this is so.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->I haven\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t heard the barn owl &#8211; Barney &#8211; as much this season, but I know he is out there.<span>  <\/span>I find droppings on the car window in the mornings sometimes to prove it.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Hum.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I also know that I have three neighborhood cats who LOVE to come to my house \u00e2\u20ac\u201c particularly at night. I occasionally see them if I happen to open the front door after dark.<span>   <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Thomas\u00e2\u20ac\u009d the tomcat comes over regularly and that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s fine by me.<span>  <\/span>I figure he and the other female cats, Ms. Kitty and Burn, keep snakes and other varmints from being in my yard.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I find at least one of the cats on top of my car most every morning.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I know for a fact the owl sees them down there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Last night I went out to eat with a friend and we came back after dark. I was sure I saw the shadows of sometime large fly from one limb to the other.<span>  <\/span>Then, it practically flew on top of my head as its two feet wing span glided from one limb to another over the driveway. A few limbs later Barney was in clear view.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Quite content to be there, as I suspected he has been in those trees most of the summer.<span>  <\/span><span> <\/span>Barney stayed right on the limb with his big eyes staring right at me. I said my hellos as I usually do when we meet face to face and went on in the house. <span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I heard several hoots briefly early this morning and wondered if he may be hooting at one of the cats. I looked out the window and saw Ms. Kitty looking up in the trees. They must have been having a visit, perhaps similar visits to the ones in <strong><em>The Owl and the Pussycat<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">After all, they must be coexisting nicely since they are gathering at my place every night\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6one on the car\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6the other in the trees.
