{"id":355,"date":"2007-07-19T06:28:53","date_gmt":"2007-07-19T10:28:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reflectionsfromacountrygirl.com\/?p=355"},"modified":"2007-07-19T06:28:53","modified_gmt":"2007-07-19T10:28:53","slug":"just-singing-or-crawling-around-in-the-rain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reflectionsfromacountrygirl.com\/?p=355","title":{"rendered":"Just Singing (or crawling around) in the Rain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">As I opened the back door last night there was a long \u00e2\u20ac\u0153thing\u00e2\u20ac\u009d on my screen door.<\/p>\n<p>It looked like a snake in the shadows so I closed the door carefully and headed for the flashlight.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">It was actually <!--more-->two slugs \u00e2\u20ac\u0153connected\u00e2\u20ac\u009d to each other\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6or at least it appeared they were.<span>  <\/span>I got the measuring stick out and they were \u00e2\u20ac\u201c combined \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 13 inches long!<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I have to put out some beer for them.<span>  <\/span>I tried sprinkling salt on one once and that was a BIG mistake. It took me several attempts to get it all off the sidewalk when I did that.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I suspect they were taking a little stroll because of all the rain we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been getting this week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I love it when it rains.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The only thing I like better than rain is when it thunderstorms.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s something intriguing about storms. The darker and louder for me, the better.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">My equivalent to dancing in the rain as they did in the song \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Singing in the Rain\u00e2\u20ac\u009d is to get in the car and take off down the road.<span>  <\/span>Yes, I like storms so much that I have been known to drive out the lake when I know one is approaching and watch.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">As you know if you live around here, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re not getting nearly enough rain and storms these days.<span>  <\/span>When we do, opening the window and listening to the gentle rains is like going off on vacation for three weeks\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s just heaven.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>My wish for you today<\/strong> is that you make the best of the weather when it hits.<span>  <\/span>Maybe you can make some of your own adventures up with situations that surround rain and storms.<span>  <\/span>Stay safe, of course, but enjoy it just the same.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">~ Joellen<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As I opened the back door last night there was a long \u00e2\u20ac\u0153thing\u00e2\u20ac\u009d on my screen door.
