Apparently people have to have mastectomies as outpatient procedures because insurance companies will not pay for an overnight stay in a hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, I think this is horrible, as having cancer itself is bad enough&#8230; but to be sent home with your drainage tubes still attached and groggy from the anesthesia is absolutely atrocious.<\/p>\n<p>So, in short, below is a petition to make the procedure have a mandatory 48 hour stay afterwards.
