If you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve read The Bible<\/em><\/strong> or remember stories you were told from it, you will probably remember the Ten Plagues in Exodus.<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

My sweetheart reminded me of this the other day. <\/span>He is packing up his place and is in the process of buying a condo. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Many things that could go wrong have done just that in the past week. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

First, the air conditioning went out the day before July 4th\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6and it is STILL out. <\/span>They determined a new one was needed, ordered it and the wrong one came in. <\/span>They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve reordered and it has yet to show up.<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

You know how hot it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6so just imagine packing on top of that. <\/span>Let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s just say it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been pretty miserable.<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

A night or so ago the boxes, which had been nicely stacked to the ceiling, collapsed, literally knocked the dining room table over, plummeting to the ground. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Good thing no one was near at the time.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I said. <\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I guess we must have packed them a little too high.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

There was silence on the other end of the phone. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

I suspect there are some things damaged there, but he didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have the heart to look inside since it really will not matter much now. <\/span>We will just deal with it when we open them.<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Then I get this call at 4:30 yesterday morning. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153There are bugs all over my bed. What do bedbugs look like?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d He said.<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

I researched bedbugs quickly on the Internet and we found that, thank goodness, they were not bedbugs. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Turns out he had left a nightlight on in the bathroom and the little flying bugs, seeing it through the screen door, had made their way into the bedroom on their way to that little light. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

What a mess.<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153You have the plagues.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I said jokingly. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

He did NOT laugh\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6that is, until we rehashed all the events.<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I think this is what they call \u00e2\u20ac\u0153building character.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d <\/span>I said. <\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Funny, I thought you were already a real character!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Sometimes life throws us little curves and the best we can do is make the most of them, find the humor in them and move on. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Sure hope they get that air conditioning fixed soon. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

My wish for you today<\/strong> is that you never have a series of events hit you like this. <\/span>However, if you do, may you have the resilience, and the fortitude, to survive them.<\/p>\n
