{"id":317,"date":"2007-06-11T10:51:56","date_gmt":"2007-06-11T10:51:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reflectionsfromacountrygirl.com\/?p=317"},"modified":"2007-06-11T10:52:38","modified_gmt":"2007-06-11T10:52:38","slug":"nothing-could-be-finer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reflectionsfromacountrygirl.com\/?p=317","title":{"rendered":"Nothing Could be Finer&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Monday morning.<span>  <\/span>I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m back in town after ten days away.<span>  <\/span>Work starts back up for me in less than an hour and a half.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p><\/o:p>Ah.<span>  <\/span>This is the life.<\/p>\n<p>You may be confused by this statement but I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->I love to take vacations.<span>  <\/span>I love seeing new places and being with friends. <span> <\/span>I love meeting new people and experiencing new things.<span>  <\/span>I love traveling around our country.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">But, like the song so melodically says \u00e2\u20ac\u0153nothing could be finer than to be in <st1:city w:st=\"on\"><st1:place w:st=\"on\">Carolina<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> in the morning\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I had a reprieve from the heat while I was in NJ.<span>  <\/span>They were having a heat wave there some of the time I visited, but the humidity was so different than ours that you would never have known it was 90 degrees on one or two of those days we was there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">As we left Saturday morning at 5:30 a.m. (yes, I am a morning person!) to return to <st1:state w:st=\"on\"><st1:place w:st=\"on\">South   Carolina<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> the temperatures were in the 50s.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">By the time we hit the NC\/SC border it was 100 degrees.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">However, that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the only thing I did not miss about our dear State.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Now don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get me wrong.<span>  <\/span>I LOVED visiting with extremely hospitable friends \u00e2\u20ac\u201c new and old.<span>  <\/span>I thrilled at the horse races, <st1:state w:st=\"on\">Washington<\/st1:state>\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Crossing, the quaint villages along the <st1:place w:st=\"on\"><st1:state w:st=\"on\">Delaware<\/st1:state><\/st1:place> and the shopping in NY City and the countryside were much different than here.<span>  <\/span>There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a Northern flair there that is unique unto itself\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">But there were no grits, few places with REAL ice tea, no Southern hospitality and very few Southern drawl friends like I have here.<span>  <\/span>There were no cowboys\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6and the gun laws were so tight in NJ and the surrounding area that one couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even take a pistol for protection\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a whole other story.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">So, all said and done, I am glad to be heading back to work and getting into a routine unique to my Southern heritage back here in good ole South Carolina\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6that is until I am on the road again shortly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>My wish for you today<\/strong> is that you have a chance to explore our country.<span>  <\/span>It will give you a better appreciation for the community, the county and the state you live in\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6where nothing could be finer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">~ Joellen<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Monday morning.
