I drove down to Charleston this weekend. As I was approaching the city it got very foggy. At least that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s what I thought was happening. <\/p>\n
It was over cast so I assumed it was fog. <\/p>\n
I rolled the window down because the temperature gage said it was 72\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6the perfect weather to get some fresh air, at least I thought so.<\/p>\n
When the window came down the odor came up. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s smoke.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I said to myself as I quickly brought the windows back up. <\/p>\n
I wondered where it was coming from as it got thicker and thicker. Surely this is not the smoke from those Georgia fires. <\/p>\n
One of my favorite views as I head west of the Ashley is going over the short but scenic bridge on 526. To my surprise, I could not even see the water from the bridge\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6and the odor was getting stronger and stronger. <\/p>\n
Sure enough, the smoke was from the fires in the lower part of Georgia \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6according to the evening news. It traveled all the way across the lower part of that state and halfway up our coast. <\/p>\n
Late that afternoon torrential rain came and cleared the atmosphere. <\/p>\n
It was good to be able to breathe again. <\/p>\n
My wish for you today <\/strong>is that you never have to breathe anything at your place that has that thick of an odor and permeates the atmosphere. Do your part to keep fires down to a minimum if you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re outside burning or even cooking. Make sure it doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get out of hand. Besides the devastation a fire can cause, it can be unpleasant to breathe as well.
