He reminds me of the song \u00e2\u20ac\u201c <strong><em>This Land is Your Land. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Yes, for those of us fortunate to own our own place, remember the feeling?  We remembered calling it our own.  We remember when things were new, the place was fresh and clean\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6ah, living the American dream in the land of plenty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">It didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t take long for reality to set in for me.  For the first time, when something broke, I had to fix it.  No calling the landlord to come take care of it.  I had to cut the grass, trim the hedges, rake the leaves (or talk my son into doing it), make the payments, paint the outside of the house and fix things up all the time\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6ah yes, the American dream.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m happy for my friend.  He feels like he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s finally getting that place of his own that he can fix up just the way he wants it.  He loves the idea he can call it his own.  He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s worked hard all his life and the time has come to do what most all of his friends and relatives are doing\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6being homeowners.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Now comes the hard part of getting a mortgage loan \u00e2\u20ac\u201c which he is so excited about.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s something just not quite right about being happy to get a loan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I just don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think he quite understands, yet, that most people do not think happy thoughts when they think \u00e2\u20ac\u0153mortgage.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I think I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been a homeowner too long.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>My wish for you today<\/strong> is that you realize just how fortunate you are in life to be where you are and own what you do.  None of us really need anything fancy. The basics are just fine, but the other is just a little bit of luxury.
